working hard is a problem, especially when you’re doing your absolute most and getting nothing in return.

we seem to think that by working and working, despite hating the job or task, we will get what we want. but we fail to understand that if we’re doing something we don’t like, we won’t be happy in the end.

like they say: money doesn’t always buy happiness. and that’s honestly so true as you grow up and realize what there is to actually be happy for, besides money. there’s family and friends, education and nature. all kinds of surroundings that can make you happy and some don’t always require money.

take the initial steps to be thankful for what you have and try to think thoroughly about what you’re doing. understand the task you are doing and ask yourself these three questions before quitting or letting go:

is it worth my time?

can i continue doing this?

and is it helping me in the end?

these are important to think about in any case, from keeping a relationship, keeping a job, continuing/dropping school etc. we shouldn’t have to stick to things that are not benefitting us or our wellbeing. we should let go. and the first step to letting go is understanding our intentions and what they will lead to.

it’s in our hands to see our future and what it will bring for us.

so we should make our decisions as early as possible to avoid regretting situations after. with that in mind, do the things you love and make sure you’re benefitting from it in the end not simply for the moment.
