with the new year already here, i thought i would share my input on the previous year and talk about lessons that we should all keep in mind for this year. let’s get to it.
last year was tough. for all of us i’m sure. it was a horrible year for me. if there were just a few words to explain it, i would say it was my year of letting go. really. so much to let go, i almost want to cry just thinking about it. this past year taught me that not everyone in our life is meant to stay. as much as we want certain people to stay, we can’t force it. they will either leave or you won’t ever hear from them again. that’s just the way it is. and there’s nothing we could really do or say.
not everything will go as planned. sometimes you want to do certain things in life or want to pursue a career or join in on an opportunity or be a part of some organization but get held back because of certain things in life. because of family or friends. because of culture and traditions. because we can’t simply do whatever we want in life. and if we could, we have a lot to consider before doing so.
make your own choices. if you know you’re not doing anything wrong, why does it matter? some people will try to stop you from achieving something because they don’t like what you’re doing. but if what you’re doing is not hurting anyone why should it matter to them? make your own decisions and don’t let anyone make you change your mind.
don’t expect anything from anyone. train yourself to not rely on others and to only depend on yourself. the more you lean towards others for your own needs or wants, the more you become useless to your own capabilities.
be kind to everyone you meet. everyone is having a hard time whether you know it or not. so be kind always and let them smile because of you.
that’s it for now. but let’s hope 2019 treats us all fairly. we’ve seen how much damage 2018 has done for us. but we’ve learned enough to survive this next year i hope. with that being said, let’s all have an amazing 2019.
happy new year!
